Martin Set to Take on The Ironman Challenge!

Our very own; Martin Kettle (Contracts/Health & Safety Manger) will be taking part in the Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire Triathlon! He is hoping to raise £1,000 for The British Heart Foundation!

Please read Martin’s story below on why the British Heart Foundation charity is so important to him;

”On 12th June 2022, I will be swapping hi-viz and hard hat for lycra and bike to take part in the Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire Triathlon. I am hoping to raise £1000 for the British Heart Foundation.

This triathlon event involves a 1.2 mile swim at Chasewater Park near Cannock followed by a 56 mile cycle route culminating in a 13.1 mile (half marathon) run around Stafford. Average finishing time is around 6 hours.

My connection with BHF is that I suffered a heart attack in 2014 at the age of 42 and seemingly fit. I will always be thankful to the health services that were able to diagnose and treat me so quickly plus provide rehabilitation that has got me back to the level of fitness required to take on this challenge.
It is the research that British Heart Foundation have funded over many years that made this possible.

Any donation would be gratefully received and make a difference to help improve and save the lives of many people with heart and circulatory diseases.”
